About Somerset
Somerset is Surry Hills’ youngest PT. She started training at The Bunker and decided to complete her Cert III & IV in Fitness before finding her home at Fitness Playground around the corner. Before coming to FP, Somerset was a few years into her nursing career, but she found a different way she could help people. Inspired by one of her brothers, she pursued her passion for personal development and fitness through a career in personal training (all while rehabilitating from her third hip surgery).
Specialisations
- Hypertrophy & strength
- Relationship with nutrition
Training Philosophy
You need to enjoy it to sustain it. You’re more likely to want to adhere to your training if it’s something you look forward to. There’s something out there for everyone. Once you find the thing that you enjoy and that challenges you, you’ll stick with it and better yourself in the process.
Education, Experience & Achievements
- Cert III & IV in Fitness
- Diploma in Enrolled Nursing
- Enrolled Nurse – Palliative and Dementia/Alzheimer Care
- Representative tennis background
3 Fun Facts
- I have had 3 pet ducks (Mango, Peaches and Coochie), a snake (Penelope), stick insects, and a lorikeet (Tommy).
- I am prepping for my first IFBB Bikini competition in 2023.
- I’ve had 3 hip surgeries (tore my labrum twice on the left and once on the right).

“Somerset is truly a unicorn when it comes to personal training. She has the unique ability to push you to your physical limit while making sure you have serious fun in the process. I started training with Somerset in late 2021 after finding it hard to motivate myself post-pandemic. Somerset listened to what I was trying to achieve and set a comprehensive program aimed at helping me lose lockdown kilos and build lean muscle. Over the course of the last 12 months I have seen serious improvements on all fronts. It’s all thanks to Somerset’s infectious enthusiasm and incredible understanding of the human body. I have trained on and off with personal trainers for over 20 years, and Somerset stands out in a league of her own. If you are thinking about training with her, don’t hesitate. She is the best.”
